Ishikawa Goemon, famoso ladro e shinobi, s'impadronisce durante un furto di una preziosa scatola in cui sono conservate
le prove del complotto che, anni prima, portò all'assassinio di Nobunaga Oda, potente signore della guerra. Toyotomi
Hideyoshi, suo successore nonché artefice della congiura, cercherà con tutti i mezzi di sbarazzarsi di Goemon e di
recuperare le prove, mentre quest'ultimo, per motivi che scopriremo solo in seguito, giurerà di vendicare la morte di
Nobunaga. Intanto Goemon incontrerà sul suo cammino Saizo, suo amico d'infanzia, ora al servizio di Toyotomi, e
Chacha Asai, la ragazza che amava, la quale sta per diventare la sua concubina......


STORYLINE

As a child, Ishikawa Goemon's (Yosuke Eguchi) entire
family was assassinated for political reasons. His mother (Ryo) sent Goemon off moments before she was killed herself.
Running away with his caretaker, they were attacked by bandits, but he was saved by Nobunaga Oda (Hashinosuké
Nakamura) who offered him a chance to become stronger. Goemon followed Nobunaga and he was assigned to Hattori Hanzo
(Susumu Terajima) to train him in the ways of the shinobi (ninja) along with Saizo (Takao Osawa)......
